About me
Hi, I’m Yuri, a Registered Nutritional Therapist specialising in perimenopause and mental health through a Functional Medicine approach.
Like many women, I struggled during the Covid lockdown. As a mum of two, balancing housework, studying, and life without family nearby—while my husband worked long hours—I felt overwhelmed. That’s when my depression was triggered, and despite seeking help, I wasn’t improving.
It wasn’t until I studied Nutritional Therapy that I discovered the missing piece: perimenopause was aggravating my symptoms. No one had told me this stage even existed. I finally understood the powerful connection between hormones, nutrition, and mental health. I realised I wasn’t just "not getting better"—I was experiencing a major life transition that needed a different kind of support.
My Approach to Nutrition
I’ve always been passionate about nutrition, but it wasn’t until I studied it that I truly understood its powerful impact on the body. Nutrition provides the essential nutrients our bodies need to function optimally, supporting everything from digestion to hormone balance, mental well-being, and more.
Nutrition is closely connected to mood and mental health, especially through the gut-brain axis. The way we nourish ourselves influences how we feel physically, emotionally, and mentally. But enjoying food is just as important—true well-being comes from balance, not restriction. Our bodies are incredibly intuitive and will guide us to what we need to stay in balance, and that’s why I’m passionate about helping others nourish their health in a sustainable way.
